Van den Bosch world champion!

Today Athens (G) viewed a spectacular S1 Grand Prix where VDB (F, KTM) became the first ever S1 World Champion. He did it with incredible style with 6 consecutive race wins.

The final showed VDB pass Manzo (I, Husqvarna) on the first lap and ride a super race, relaxed with no faults. But things where heating up behind him, with Manzo, Rubio (F, Husqvarna), Delepine (B, Vertemati), Lazzarini (I, Yamaha) and Verderosa (I, Honda) battling like crazy, giving 120%.
Kinigadner (A, KTM) crashed when he attacked Manzo for the second place and finished as an unlucky 13th.

“I am so happy with this title, not only for me, but also fro KTM and the whole team” says Thierry “Dominator” Van den Bosch.
“The pressure was big, because everybody expected me to win. But the pressure will be even bigger in Australia, because now to win also the last race of the World Championship. 7 races, 7 wins – this is my target. I can not get enough of it!”

The UFO S1 SuperMoto GP of Greece was one of the best races of this year, staged on the old airport of Athens, which was transformed into a prime SuperMoto Stadium. A big crowd of more than 12 500 race fans saw great sport, with the splendid stunt show of Jean-Pierre Goy as another climax.
